Author’s Note: The Challenge was to write a short story in 100 words. Below Follows the results!
It was in a dingy room that smelled of anti-septic and urine from the dogs who had come before that I met her. It had been a long and difficult search. Some of the others had been too loud, too high energy, or jumped too much. She did none of these things. There was a peace about her and sadness in her eyes. She simple sat down and waited calmly for my approach. With slow determination, as to not scare her off I walked towards her. I licked her face, as she pet my coat and said “Let’s go home.”
